A.I.D. serves as a liaison between people who need assistance and agencies that can provide it. Volunteers answer phones 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. Monday through Friday, putting callers in contact with governmental programs, local public assistance agencies or private groups. A.I.D. may be able to arrange transportation for medical visits.

Catholic Charities provides individual, marital and family counseling, grief counseling, crisis intervention, and adoption services. The agency supports Christina House – Lisbon for domestic violence victims in need of shelter and collaborates with other agencies to provide services to families, including emergency assistance, legal advocacy for victims and supervised visitation.

VNA provides a variety of services including home health care, skilled nursing, home infusion, maternal/child care, physical, occupational and speech therapy, nutritional services, and non-skilled personal care. Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Adult day care operates weekdays. VNA is Medicare/Medicaid certified and accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

The agency administers a food pantry, and provides assistance for prescription drugs, and lodging and utilities. Volunteers visit nursing homes, hospitals and shut-ins. Day camps and summer camps are sponsored. Emergency disaster services are provided.
